“Let it be done”
fiat
Mary’s “yes” at the Annunciation opened the way for Life Himself to enter the world. In her total surrender, she shows us that holiness begins with a willing heart—one that trusts, receives, and responds to God’s call.
Our Lady of Life invites every soul to echo her fiat: to say yes to God in all things, to embrace life as a gift, and to live in loving consecration to Mary, who always leads us to her Son
Meet James
founder of Our Lady of Life Ministry
In 1988, after a pilgrimage to Medjugorje, James Kern of Tucson witnessed an image of the Blessed Mother in the sky, kneeling on the world in prayer, later understood as a profound sign that deepened his devotion.
Back home, further experiences and confirmations in prayer led him to begin sharing Marian statues and devotional images, through which many reported blessings. This growing movement became the foundation of the Our Lady of Life ministry, dedicated to honoring Mary and promoting the dignity of human life.

The Original Statue
This ministry began when James started giving small blessed baby figures from the original Our Lady of Life statue to mothers struggling with infertility or difficult pregnancies, as a reminder to entrust themselves to Mary and carry her Son spiritually as she carried Him for nine months. After starting a devotion, 54 of these women have been blessed with healthy babies.
James continues to share these blessed babies today, and now the mission is expanding as new statues are being created to bring this devotion into more homes and families.
James gifts these blessed baby Jesus figurines to invite all the consecrate themselves to Our Lady of Life, imitating Our Lady and carrying Our Lord with us at all times.

BRING OUR LADY TO YOUR HOME AND HEART
A Devotion for Our Times
In an age marked by confusion, the loss of reverence for life, and the suffering of so many families, Our Lady of Life calls us back to what is true. Kneeling upon the world in humility, she invites us to return to God with a faithful yes—to pray, to trust, and to defend the dignity of every human life. This devotion is a call to live in union with her and to allow Christ, the Author of Life, to reign in our hearts and homes.
How to Begin This Devotion
Place Our Lady of Life in a visible place in your home and return to her each day in prayer. Through this devotion, you are invited to enter into a deeper union with Mary—seeking to see with her eyes, listen with her heart, and respond to God with her trust and surrender. Entrust your life, your intentions, and your crosses to her, asking her to form you more fully in Christ. In this union, strive to give your daily fiat, allowing Our Lord to live and act within you through her.
A Sign of Hope
Through the intercession of Our Lady of Life, we have witnessed many women return with healthy babies after suffering infertility or difficult pregnancies. As part of this devotion, blessed Baby Jesus figurines are given as a reminder to pray and to carry Our Lord each day in imitation of Mary. By God’s grace, 53 women have returned with healthy babies. We receive this with humility and gratitude—as a sign of hope, and a reminder of the power of prayer and her maternal care.

BUILD A SHRINE
Our Lady of Life calls each of us to see our homes as places of prayer and reverence for the gift of life. One way to live this mission is by creating a small shrine, a sacred space where you and your family can pause, pray, and remember the dignity of every person from conception to natural death.
Choose a quiet place in your home where you feel drawn to pray. At the center, place your statue of Our Lady of Life. Around it, you might include:
-
Crucifix
-
Candle
-
Rosary
-
The Scriptures or a prayer book
-
Holy water
-
Flowers or greenery - symbols of beauty and life

The Meaning Behind the Image

Mary is portrayed in her youthful purity at the Annunciation, full of humility and grace. Her “fiat” opened her to receive Christ Himself, showing that holiness flows from total surrender to God’s will
The newborn Christ rests in Mary’s hands, revealing the dignity of every life especially the most vulnerable. In His smallness, we see that every child is known and loved by God.
Mary kneels in humility, surrendering to God’s will while embracing all humanity. In her littleness, she lovingly intercedes for a world in need of grace.
This devotional statue is in honor of the image James Kern had seen of the Blessed Mother in the sky, kneeling on the world in prayer - Our Lady of Life. A miracle that has brought many hearts to Our Mother and inspired this ministry.
Our Lady of Life stands as a sign of hope for the world—kneeling with us before Our Lord, interceding for an end to abortion and for the restoration of reverence for every life in the womb.
Our Lady of Life
Our New Statue
Our Lady of Life Ministry desires that every home and Catholic community have access to this beautiful devotion and sacred art. Sculpted by renowned sacred artist Joseph DeVito, Our Lady of Life has now been completed and is ready for production. This work stands as a powerful invitation to deepen faith, foster reverence for life, and bring spiritual renewal into both families and parishes.
We are currently creating a bronze statue of Our Lady to bring to parishes, and are working on producing these new smaller statues for homes so that all may begin this devotion in our present times.
Support Our Lady of Life Ministry in creating and sharing new statues, helping bring this devotion to homes and communities everywhere.

Our Lady of Life Miracle

Testimony of Jerry
In June 2022, Jerry was diagnosed with stage 3-A lung cancer that had spread through his lymphatic system, and doctors were uncertain whether treatment would help. During this time, he met James Kern, founder of Our Lady of Life Ministry, who prayed with him, shared prayer cards and sacramentals, and placed Jerry on countless prayer lists across churches in and outside Arizona. Over the next eleven months, Jerry, his wife, and many others prayed faithfully for God’s will and healing. Then, by what Jerry calls a miracle of God, doctors found no trace of the tumor or affected lymph nodes — he was declared in full remission. Jerry now gives thanks daily to God and to Our Lady of Life Ministry for their prayers and friendship, saying, “The mountain has been moved, and now I can cross.”
