Our
Ministry
Founded by James Kern, Our Lady of Life began as a response to Our Lady’s call to restore prayer and devotion in every heart. Confronted by the culture of death, James was inspired to lead souls to say yes with Mary, yes to God’s will, yes to life, and yes to love. Rooted in her fiat, our ministry seeks to strengthen faith, renew devotion, and awaken a deep reverence for the sacred gift of life through prayer, devotion, and education.

Our Lady's fiat
At the heart of Our Lady of Life is Mary’s fiat her perfect “yes” to God at the Annunciation, when she welcomed the Author of Life into her womb and became the model for every soul who seeks to do His will.
In a world overshadowed by the culture of death, marked by abortion, violence, and rebellion against truth, we are called to imitate her humble surrender.
Through Mary’s example, Our Lady of Life seeks to restore prayer to the heart of the family, where reverence for life begins, and to help each soul rediscover the peace and strength that come from saying yes to God. Every act of faith and every prayerful home becomes a defiance of darkness, a living proclamation that Life Himself reigns.
Devotion

At Our Lady of Life Ministry, we seek to foster deep and faithful devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of God and the Mother of Life. Through her maternal intercession, countless souls have been drawn closer to her Divine Son, who is Himself the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

Across our various shrines established within local parishes, the faithful are invited to kneel before Our Lady and entrust to her the defense of life, the healing of families, and the conversion of hearts. These sacred places stand as visible signs of hope in a world wounded by the culture of death, bearing witness to the truth that every human life, created in the image of God, is sacred and worthy of love.
Through these devotions, Our Lady continues to pour out graces upon those who seek her help. Forty-six women who had been struggling with infertility or difficult pregnancies have received the gift of healthy children, after beginning a devotion to Our Lady. This is a testament to Mary’s intercession and God’s mercy. We invite parishes, schools, and youth groups to welcome Our Lady of Life into their communities. Our ministry travels to share the miraculous stories of life that have unfolded through her care; testimonies of healing, renewal, and faith restored. By spreading devotion to the Mother of Life, we seek to rekindle love for the Rosary, strengthen trust in divine providence, and renew reverence for the sanctity of every human life.

Prayer
Prayer is the foundation of Our Lady of Life Ministry. It is through prayer that hearts are converted, lives are protected, and hope is restored. In every age, the Blessed Virgin Mary has called her children to prayer and penance, and today she continues to intercede for the world as we confront the darkness of the culture of death.
At Our Lady of Life, we unite our petitions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary through our Life Prayer, offered daily for the protection of all human life—from conception to natural death—and for the conversion of those who do not yet see its sacred value.
Our Prayer Group gathers faithfully to pray every morning for these intentions. United in spirit with the Church throughout the world, our members continually lift up prayers for mothers in crisis, unborn children, families, and all who suffer the wounds of abortion.
In this ongoing spiritual battle, prayer is our greatest weapon, and love our strongest defense. Each Friday morning, we also pray the Rosary outside Planned Parenthood in Tucson, imploring Our Lady’s intercession for the conversion of hearts and the end of abortion. These rosaries are peaceful acts of reparation, offered in charity and hope, bearing witness to the dignity of every human person.

To be truly pro-life is to embrace the fullness of the Gospel, the truth that every human person is made in the image and likeness of God and possesses an inalienable dignity from the moment of conception until natural death. At Our Lady of Life Ministry, we believe that authentic love for life begins with understanding, and understanding begins with faith.
Through our education efforts, we seek to form hearts and minds according to the teachings of the Church. Our ministry regularly visits parishes, schools, and community events to share what it truly means to be Catholic and pro-life—not merely as a moral stance, but as a way of life rooted in charity, sacrifice, and the defense of the most vulnerable.
Most recently, our ministry participated in St. Mark’s Trunk or Treat, sharing our message of life and offering families miraculous medals, holy cards, and educational materials to inspire devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and greater awareness of the dignity of life.
Through these efforts, Our Lady of Life Ministry strives to be a light in the community, bringing truth where there is confusion, faith where there is doubt, and hope where there is despair. In all we do, we seek to form a culture that reveres life because it comes from God and returns to Him.

Our Lady of Life Miracle

Testimony of Jerry
In June 2022, Jerry was diagnosed with stage 3-A lung cancer that had spread through his lymphatic system, and doctors were uncertain whether treatment would help. During this time, he met James Kern, founder of Our Lady of Life Ministry, who prayed with him, shared prayer cards and sacramentals, and placed Jerry on countless prayer lists across churches in and outside Arizona. Over the next eleven months, Jerry, his wife, and many others prayed faithfully for God’s will and healing. Then, by what Jerry calls a miracle of God, doctors found no trace of the tumor or affected lymph nodes — he was declared in full remission. Jerry now gives thanks daily to God and to Our Lady of Life Ministry for their prayers and friendship, saying, “The mountain has been moved, and now I can cross.”
